Posted: EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT FIREAre you interested in learning more about “Fire Art”? Members of Ignis teach classes on using various fire tools, techniques, learning to build your own fire implements and fire safety, and as a part of the class you will be given the opportunity to collaborate on shows with Ignis. This is a body movement and performance focused class. The goal is to get you to move your body while you work with fire and get you ready to perform for audiences, including how to obtain permits and work with clients. All skill levels welcome. Even those of you who have no desire to perform will benefit from this class.Cost is $10-$15 and hour sliding scale for regular group class (you will not be turned away for lack of money) and $20-25 and hour for private lessons. Hour for hour trade will also be considered. Group class is every Monday night from 7-9pm in our big indoor studio. If you are interested, give Donia a call at 206.819.5684 or e-mail info@ignisdevoco.com for address and directions. We have been teaching fire arts for over two years, and have a combined professional performance and fire history of over 15 years. We work with every fire tool imaginable and will also inspire you to create your own unique tools. We constantly strive to perfect our teaching methods so that you get the most out of class....Tools we currently work with are Fire.... Chains, batons, Staff, double staff, clubs, sticks, palms, fingers, fans, ropes, rope dart, meteors, eating, blowing, transfer, bolos, flaming costumes.. plus a few tools of our own design that we will share with you. For those of you in Seattle of surrounding area who are new to the fire scene this is a great way to meet others and build a community!! Ignis Devoco is committed to the idea of building a fire community and with this in mind we offer what ever information we may posses on the subject of fire arts. PLease note: This is not a twirling class this is a fire class, twirling will be only one part of what we will teach you. Fire is dangerous and this should be considered before making the decision to join this class. [This message has been edited by Ignis Devoco (edited 16 January 2002).]
