I am the "Dreaded Goth-Computer geek-Viking" and am aiming to be the "Ever So Dreaded Goth-Computer geek-Viking-Fire spinner", wish me luck smile

Name: Óskar(Oscar) Vatnsdal(Waterdale) Guðjónsson(son of Godjon)

Location: Iceland

Hometown: Hafnarfjördur

Birthday: 02.06'82

Sex: Male

Occupation: Studying for my BSc in Computer Science

Favorite Color: Dark Red

What is the wing speed of an unladen swallow? The average cruising airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24 miles an hour, living in Europe I have yet to find the average cruising airspeed velocity of an unladen African Swallow...

Toys: Juggling balls, poi and staff (no fire yet)

Hobbies other than the obvious: Programming, drawing, the occult, anime, playing musical instruments, viking fights, playing with my son... you know, the usual

Favorite Book Authors: Terry Pratchet, Arthur C. Clark, J. R. R. Tolkien, Isac Osimov and others...

Godzilla vs. a Star Wars Star Destroyer. Who wins? Why? Godzilla could never fight a Star Wars Star Destroyer as the Star Destroyer can not enter atmosphere and attacks only from orbit while Godzilla is earthbound *nods*

Favorite TV shows: Slayers, Heroes, [censored], House, Kyle XY and others...

Plans for life in general: Work in the gaming industry and have fun with my toys along the way?

Favorite Music Artists/Composers: Bach, Blackmore's Night, NightWish, Sniglabandið...

Do you think these pants make my butt look too big? Yes, but I don't mind

Favorie ice cream flavor: Mint

Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella? Nutella, as that is the only spread from the options that you can actually get here on Iceland (aren't we smart?)

---

I have been playing with poi and staff for about a week now, learned juggling years ago and have just picked that up again as well... hoping to find some friends here while I learn to spin, maybe even meet someone somewhere sometime?
If you would like to learn more, just ask wink

I have large store of both hugs and slightly inappropriate sarcasm, but I will accept more if offered.

'ello! welcome to HOP! hug yup, i'd have to say Iceland is brilliant for only making Nutella available.

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.

That is for liking Blackmore's Night as it is hard for me to find people who *know* who they are let alone like them.

I've been so very fortunate to perform with them at a Ren and they are AMAZING!

Best version of Greensleeves I've ever heard in my life, though I think Under a Violet Moon is very fun.

Oh yeah, hi! wink wave

That's neat Gayle, have you ever been to Iceland before or is this your first time?

U know U.L.G., I haven't listened to any of NightWish's newer stuff so I haven't heard the new vocalist redface (or maybe I have on Gotham radio and not realized it...)

And hug to you to Pele, my favorite (at the moment anyway) would have to be "Nur Eine Minute". Also, you got to perform with them...eek

*goes back to his school projects, spends a few minutes, then comes running back to repay U.L.G.'s hug*
hug and here's one for you Gayle, so that you don't feel left out hug
I didn't forget you, see... >^_^<

Ohh, sure...
First off the regular tourist attractions like Gullfoss and Geysir, Dettifoss and the Blue Lagoon (if nothing else, you should definitely go for a dip in the lagoon, it's great)

Then there are some museums and art galleries and if you want to really look into our cultural inheritance you should also go to Þingvellir(parliament plains) where our government was founded in the year 930 making it one of the worlds oldest parliamentary institutes in the world(also it's really pretty).

Then you should try and come for the viking bar Fjörukráin where I might be persuaded to buy you a drink beerchug...

Now that's just throwing some general ideas out there, but if you want me to help you plan your stay more throughly, just pm me smile

312,851... wait... aaaaaaaand 312,852... no back to 312,851 (numbers gotten from wikipedia.org, we usually just say "over 300,000")

Yeah, I know, not a lot (this the entire population of Iceland, not just our capital; Reykjavík) shrug

Less than the population of San Francisco.

Also, how long has Iceland suffered such a severe vowel shortage? I thought the U.N. had been executing vowel drops over Reykjavík for a few decades now...

wink

Vowel shortage? What vowel shortage? We have, I would have you know, more vowels than English nana
*Being all defensive about his mother-tongue*
Otherwise I have no idea what you are talking about, the U.N. executing vowel drops over Reykjavík, indeed...
*Shakes head*

wink
