Hello, hello and welcome to the all-new, shiny thread for fire dancers, spinners, object manipulators, drummers, musicians and anyone else interested in these arts anywhere in Ireland.

Our community started coming together a few years ago, and it's grown to include people from all over the country...

If you are new to poi or staff or spinning stuff and want to meet up with any of the Irish spinners, please post in this thread, introduce yourself and feel free to come along to the workshops, gatherings or events that get talked about.

Also, if you'd like to be on my mailing list for fire gatherings and other juggling events, please PM me your email address and I'll add it. The fire gathering takes place fortnightly in Belfast, but it's one way to keep in touch with everyone.

So welcome, and hope to see you soon wave

Hi all,
Looking at the june thingy session it seems people are off to different parts of the world so I'm at a loss as to what to do with it...
There's marquee's ready, i'm waiting on word from Raaf the 'man with the farm' about the field, and I'm hoping to meet someone with a sound-system hitching between now and then, (that is if its worth the effort).
Personally i want to enjoy the splice of nature, fire, friends, and all that goes with that, so I guess I'll find out from those in question if they're up for it and if so we'll do it...if not, then not

If you have an opinion, lets hear it,
In any case enjoy the summer everyone, best wishes to you all on your adventures,
over and out ubbrollsmile

Or you could just confirm what weekend you're thinking about and what's happening?

But, it seems that loads of people will be away in June... so maybe suggest a couple of options for field availability and see who's free?

I'm new to Ireland so I'm looking to meet cool people and make friends, as the social scene in rural Louth leaves something to be desired! rolleyes

Yes, I imagine the social life in Louth would be similar to that of Laois (where I hail from). Yeah, Like Clare said keep an eye on this thread.
There's the show on Tara next Friday that Mairead (fench23) has been telling us about.

Hey Xina,

The story with Friday is that a bunch of us are going up to visit the protesters (see www.tarawatch.org for info on why they're protesting) to cheer them up with some firey fun. Bring a tent and fuel if you can (cookies etc are optional), call me on: 0879146920 if need any other info or if you need me to collect you from the bus stop (it's a bit of a walk up to the hill), hope to see you there

You guys ROCK!! What an awesome idea to provide moral support and firey entertainment to the protesters (and yeah even tho I'm new here, I'm aware of the atrocities planned for Tara... thanks for the link, just signed the protest petition).
I'm definately gonna try to make it...
I'm still very much a beginner and haven't yet attempted fire (a bit chicken!) but I'd love to offer support any way I can...

Hello Sweeties,

The Tara Fire Gathering was a HUGE success, over 80 people were there over the course of the night and of course the fire was the highlight so thanks so much to those of you who turned out for it. Tara (that is actually her name and she's a Tara protester) said that it was exactly what they needed, a total break and a chance to blow off some steam after a week spent jumping in front of diggers and construction workers. All the protesters had a great laugh and they asked me to spread the word for the solstice. It's on Thursday 21st of June, and it's going to be big, big BIG!! It's on a Thursday, I know that some of you won't be able to make it for the actual solstice but they said to let you all know that the celebrations will continue till the end of the weekend so get those tents ready, you won't want to miss this party. I'll be adding some photo's of the Tara Full Moon gathering as soon as I figure out my new external hard drive so have a peck into my gallery.

Hugz,
Mairead.
