Posted: I dont know anything about your speciffic camera but if its anything like mine, youre going to need firewire to get video from it. I prefer Adobe Premiere for editing though its kinda complicated if youve never used it before. To capture video from your camera, connect it through fire wire, open Premiere, go to file>capture video and use the interface that brings up to capture stuff from your camera.
Hope that helps a bit.
Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes. We'll blaze a new trail, and torch the rough patches.

my friend that is comming with me is a graphic designer by trade!! hes done a degree on premire pretty much !!! and he also recomends final cut too....... for video edditing the only two are premire and final cut.......on a mac for quick no hassle edditing, grab a mac and use imovie!!! but as i recall u have a pc
u should be able to connect the cammera to the lappie using USB, firewire would be quicker but unless ur lappie (PC) came with firewire then its not worth it.....
will try and get hold of sony memory stick...see how it goes!!
see u in kent dude, well im still working on the 7 seater!!:)

Posted: Its USB, ive got XP, it still DONT work.
it doesnt even recognise that the USB cable is attatched.. (based soley on the fact that the cable is from another digital camera, is also USB and fits the new camera perfectly)

Posted: lol i thought plug and play was something you can't talk about on a public forum. The sony manual should have the instructions on DV capture - if it's on the actual feature list! perhaps the memstick only option only stored stillss/short mpeg clips? i may be speaking of the wrong model...:shugs and begins coveting about a ring on frodo's possesion:
