Posted: On "My Home" on this site next to my name there is a little letter flashing suggesting that I have unread messages but when I click on it i go to my inbox but there is nothing there, I can't seem to check them, very frustrating...can you please help me or tell me what I am doing wrong?

It went away on it's own for me, but was also shortly after i joined, like you. I don't know if that's anything to do with it.
when you next go to "My home", try a forced refresh.. it's ctrl and refresh for a pc, and i *think* ctrl, shift and refresh on a mac?
