Sounds like geometric poi. Making a shape with your hand (like a star) while the poi moves in anti spin. Technically it is linear extension but they still move in anti spin. For me Poiboy is the one that really made this present to me. Its fun to play with.

Cyrille[sic] also has a video of this on youtube. I believe he calls it geometric poi.

Basically, you can make a number of different patterns with your hands. But I find when it gets to complicated most people can't tell the difference.

The pentagon is a great one to switch up the pattern and it looks great! It is also a nifty way of switching the timings of your flowers.

Also the 6 and 8 petal linear extension cateye-ish flowers are fun. Especially in opposite timing when done in wallplane. There is a video called tank tech around here somewhere show casing them. =)

Hey how did you make your flowers like that? I've seen it on a graph and thought, "How could that be possible to do with poi? I don't know it doesn't seem very possible at all." So please explain the hand motions.

It would see m that he is just showing a lot of different mathematical circle representations. Some may not be physically possible and others that are you may never be able to see them. Still a fun post exploring patterns.

Well, they are more than mathematical representations. He has pictures if him doing them with poi. Also I saw it in a video somewhere and it looked insane.
