Oh my god, i nearly actually very possibly (aww sod it, i did) get sick of people doing poi this weekend!! I even saw a four year old with baby poi whacking her sister around the head with them!

Nearly every stall sold practice poi (special hugs to the lady at tapooka for showing me those double staff mvoes!)and there were some really good poiers about.

I dont have the foggiest who i met but you were all really sweet (except for the guy at the stone circle who wouldnt leave me and my staff alone, insisted on playing, swung it round his head and hit me in the face....ouch my sunburn!)

plus blonde haired dude at the circus tent teaching everyone poi. I think it was fantastic you took the time to do this, plus ur mvoes were wicked. You actually dumbstruck my boyfriend (thank you!)

oh and spinning to bongos at 3am wit everyone around you oohing and ahhing then giving you a round of applause is the strangest yet most heartwarming experiences!

anyways, would lvoe to hear people experiences of glasters, anyone who saw me and is pissed cos i dont remember (take in mind i was in laalaaland alot of the time and severely sunstroked)and who you reckoned was the best band (zero 7 for me !)

love yas

vic xx

p.s. who poied to rolf harris?? come on, i saw ya and you was good but come on dude, you gotta watch rolfy!!!

ex-hop-aholic, now inconsistent lurker...

Mineiro i totally missed out on see`ing your show... my mind was full and scrambled from it being my birthday on the saturday and life events not being fun for the weeks before - so if you are doing things for the fringe in edinburgh... can i come and play sometime and see the show? - i came and worked at the edinburgh fringe a couple of years ago...2000 i think -was amazing
-i heard i was supposed to come and see you -but my mind was in...girl-too full for thinking mode-so i did the best i could... (pats own back...)
i`m left intrigued but happy-is it fire pyramid frame? or ? - a secret is something-you tell 1 other person pick me !! pick me !!!
lovely glowing reports on the te-pooka show -
do you know puck?-who does fire in edinburgh? - i met him and a fire troupe while i was up for the fringe... - give my regards to edinburgh
p.s. fire-scars are a rite of passage on the ship of fire ..tickets please...

sepa the dutch lady with the diabolo is the amazing 'venus' - i saw her in 1999 -i think.. and she was and still is captivating !!! - i was doing a stilt set -walkabout whilst she was on and she held me for ages
-i was a god on a cloud 'thunder'clapping her antics
i do the buy pressies through-out the year thing too - but i give them straight away-theres no time like the present for er-giving presents-makes wyrd sense

exits stage right - smiling from inside ...

Can miles truly separate us from friends? If we want to be with someone we love aren't we already there? If there is someone willing to show, and there is someone willing to see; magic happens. This is whem humans are alive. This is when the wingless fly.

Was that Swamp Circus on Sunday night?? Saw them on Saturday... totally blew my mind, what an amazing show! Then after the show on Saturday the band just kept playing and everyone who'd stayed to the grand finale boogied for another half hour or so. Fantastic stuff.

Orange, I don't even remember a stilt walker in the tent during the show on Sunday night, I just had to watch Venus, but 'hi!' in a retrospective kind of way!

Spontaneous presents are usually the best, aren't they.

Jazz - could have been the fire show you saw on sunday night? By the DVF Stage in the same field as the theatre tent?

If it was, it was on fri, sat and sun nights at about 1.20pm. Mineiro was part of the main act, Te Pooka, doing a big show in the centre with drummers, flares, synchronized routines, dance and overall amazing stuff. There was a big mixed group of staffers, poi-ers, club swingers, a guy with a fire flag, sparkly poi etc as well. I was in that group that came on at the beginning and the end of the main show.

Oh no!! sounds like I missed something amazing... I did read about the fire show, but never worked out exactly where or when.

Glasto's like that, isn't it. So much is happening, so little time to see it all, let alone sleep so you can see it all the next day!!

Shpongle played? Really? I thought they hardly ever played here. Hmmmm, can anyone confirm they played? I could do with another reason for being depressed I didn't go

Mind you I saw No Doubt on the Thrusday @ Brixton and they were awesome, and I saw Lamb in April and they were even better.
If anyone is a Lamb fan they're playing the Essential Festival in Hackney Marshes on 3rd August. (more info at https://www.essentialfestival.com
which could be good. Anyone been before?

i got into it through www.firespinners.net

It was just really last minute and thrown together for our group. I think it was ok though.

Mineiro, on the other hand, is part of a big practiced, choreographed act that was the focal point of the entire fire show. It was amazing. I can't begin to say how impressed I was with all the routines and the drumming and the dancing and the quality and fluidity of the spinning. wow.

I think i had one of the best weekends of my life!

Really enjoyed performing on the outside circus stage. Although performing solo in the fire show on Sat night was the biggest buzz of all, there was just a sea of faces.

Still high from it all.

Loved every minute of it.

Though id better make the effort Roz!

Glasto was one awsome experiance for me, being first time and all, The memoriez of chilling up at the stones with all those spinnerz will stick in my mind for sum time to come. Nice meetin ya Dave, Hugo, Theo & Mike, was most nice to sit and watch the sun come up in such an atmospheric place.

I must say though the most disapointing thing was missing Rolf, however seeing the founding member of Floyd perform most certanly made up for it.

Pryofile get in touch before you come over to Plymouth, ill be well up for a mad nite of ze drum n ze bass.

Same agin next year then!

Dont know how I missed this thread until now but yes I was at Glasto and had a fantastic time!!

Met loads of cool people and many many spinners during the week, Orange, Dom in the stone circle Twirlers in the Greenfields and loads of people that I didnt get names for.

Orbital was one of the highlights music wise for me (was spinning somewhere towards the back where there was space) and i was also present for Rolf although I wasnt spinning as it was far too early in the morning having been at the stone circle all night and most of the morning!

Best sunday night ever - for once (of my 5 glastos) I didn't see a band, and thank [censored] I didn't. Thanks to all spinning around the stone circle, you guys were amazing. And BrightFX, you were good but your pyrotechnics kind of overshadowed your spinning wink Also the other fire show I caught, can't remember who was doing it but it ended with a guy doing a huge staff with massive wicks... really cool. The people doing fire near the fire and dance stage were really cool too.

biggrin

Where's glastonbury? confused

It's in Somerset, England. I suppose this would have been in the events section, but someone actually did a search and found a previous post smile

UCOF and myself were trying to work out what we did for the whole festival, most of it consisted of spending time in the circus fields, at the te Pooka stall or walking through mud between them biggrin
Despite the mud, I thought the whole festival was fantastic, except for the having to leave part frown

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
