err... before someone yells at you for not posting in a pre-existing thread instead of cluttering the search engine with more theads titles that keep you from quickly finding real info on stated move, I would like to point out that leaning a bit forward with knees bent is also a huge help.

well done,iv just managed to do 7bt reverse and forward weave.to do this its just 5bt weave with the wrapping up of your elbows.give it a try...

yeh it truely is all in the hips and the shoulders, quite hard to get it to stop hitting your body sometimes though
the hardest thing ive found to do btb is continous turn 5 beat weave , its too bloody hard

iv got to the stage of doing 3bt btb weave compitantly but cannot do 5.its more of a contortion though.not that good yet.only been doing poi for 3/4 months lol.

actually, tis ok - had a hell of a time finding the threat I "knew" existed on BTB 5 beat weaves - never did actually. It is out there somewhere though!
maybe it was just a fragment of another thread.

omg. i just got these too, and immediately tried to go into btb reverse 5-beat butterfly weave. It damned near ripped my elbows off!! it's such a nice day I'm prolly going to ice em for a sec and head back out, but damn...

i was taught the 5 beat weave last week and was given a really great tip to remember which way your hands are supposed to go....if you are moving from the left side of your body to the right with the poi, your right wrist should be underneath your left and pushing your left hand across your body, and visa versa for the other way. you then just need to figure out the way you need to roll your hands/wrists in a way that is comfortable for you......hope i explained it ok, it worked for me!!! good luck
