I've had poi for about a month now. I can do a butterfly, alternate butterfly, big butterfly, Mexican weave, and a three beat weave, and a three beat weave over the head.
Am I doing any good with poi for my first month, or do I need allot of work for a beginner?
I'm having trouble doing a butterfly behind my head then bringing it back in front of me btw.

heres what it says in the FAQ for this forum matey wink
I know all these moves, and I've been spinning for one month. Is that good? Tell me I'm great...
Ask something like this and you'll get a lot of nice people telling you that you're great and it really doesn't matter as long as you're having fun. People learn at different speeds, people have learnt quicker and better than you, and other haven't.

yeah, I guess your right. But I dont want people just to be like, oh thats good. I want criticism, something to drive me to do better.

go do better

your rubbish

you need to think long and hard about your spinning and wonder whether you even have half straight planes

go put something heavy n nasty in your poi so every time you hit yourself you remember how much more you need to work on everything

Nah, really, you're doing good. Maybe work on neatening it up though? Some of those moves are bound to be sloppy still but that will improve with practice.

dunno how good it is compared to other people cause I haven't seen enough people learning, but as a tip for where to go next learn everything backwards (weaves), inwards (butterfly), or just the other direction (mexican wave etc) and start thinking about planes.

ie are you warping planes to get into BF or are you spinning opposite directions & turning? The latter is probably more smooth & lets you keep a flow going during a session.
