Thats right! Poi in the Punt will happen again this year on the earlier date of Saturday 31st May. I have tried to find a date which doesn't clash with anything (much) else to try to get maximum participation and also hopefully a date which will be fixed (i.e. last saturday in May) for the forseeable future.
The day will include a punt trip (funny boat with big stick for those who dont know- see the vid below) on the river cam involving much sillyness and possibly some falling in (yes thats me falling over in the vid
). Theres usually time for a bit of lunch, some spinning in the afternoon followed by a burn and BBQ in the evening. Theres even talk of a tea tasting workshop with a variety of teas all the way from China courtesy of myself and Lazyangel. I'm sure we'll think of a few more as the day approaches too (ideas welcome)
There will be limited crash space available on the saturday night and if we get a lot of interest we can investigate local campsites to accomodate.
We've had a lot of fun doing PITP the last two years and this year will be no different. Look forward to seeing you there!

well I've got a load of crash space at mine, and there are other potential spaces for people to crash in if need be, depends how many people turn up really
I have beds for 12 people, so long as some people don't mind sharing a bed (2 double beds, two single beds, one double air mattress, one double futon mattress, two single futon mattresses) but bringing sleeping bags is advised.

I've been out of the scene for far too long!
It would be lovely to come to this and see some old faces, and hopefully some new ones too
Guy, it would be lovely to have some crash space at your house. Help with cooking, tea making, washing up and skinning up fully provided.
And Sim is a sneaky bugger by bagsying a double bed specifically so he can get me in it too

Whats this about free punts Guy? That would be cool.
By the way it usually works out to about £10 a head for the punts depending on how long were out and the number of ppl per punt, so if your coming assume this cost, if Guy manages to organise something, thats £10 more to spend on food/drinks/presents for me and Guy
P.S. Siege, "might be tempted" isn't good enough, I havnt seen you for aaaages, which considering we live in the same city is baaaad! so you must come, oh and we should go for a pint soon too

OK, not that I cave to peer pressure or anything but I think it's gonna be pretty inevitable that I shall be joining you all on the wonderful day that this will be! ;-)
If there isn't enough space at Guy's for everyone then there may be space for 1 or 2 at my place; but it's always more fun if we can crash in one place if at all possible!

i second your motion, with added suggestion that i saw on some cooking show, this guy made raisin rum by pricking the raisins with pins then putting into the rum and leaving it for a week.

Louise - we'll probably meet late morning as most people will be travelling from quite a long way. I'll confirm where nearer the time as it will depend on where we end up getting the punts from. Last year we went to the Granta pub at the millpond because they are one of the few independant punt hire places left.
Good to see so much interest.
Aran - good idea on the rum, dont forget your pirate hat.
Sim, I saw that thing about the raisin rum, looked tasty, worth a try i reckon.
