Heya all. A quick question from me for people around New York smileWhat is the twirling situation around there? Do they prefer staff or poi? Are there any gatherings around during the Summer season?Final question, does anyone have any experience with/know about a Camp called French Woods 2 hours odd out of New York? Just up around the catskill (sp?) mountains.Reason being, I'll be spending Summer at this camp as an international counselor through the CCUSA program. Really looking forward to it as well, hopefully someone can tell me more. Thanks grin

I really hate speaking for the NYC fire community only because I have NO control over what's up when. Our last summer space was shut down due to 9-11 security concerns. Our current space is under scrutiny. I dunno what's happening this weekend let alone this summer. smileNothing that I know of gets planned this far in advance. There certainly is no gathering planned this far in advance...

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

I agree. And take as many people with you when you leave. Preferably tourists.

Good day...

It's still cold in the LES but I'm hopeful for warm weather & that someone is getting together to spin fire soon. Anyone... anyone... Bueller?

I'm a dancer - fire fans, fire fingers (and I have a dusty staff that I need to learn how to use.) oh p.s. anyone have equipment to make their own fire toys? Want to make the cool sliddy kevlar ball o' fun.

Peace
~Katra

A couple of my friends have found a potential practice space in south NJ. We've been toying around with camping out once to see whether it's worth the bother driving down.

Update :

I found a crew that does occasional fire nights at Rutgers - New Brunswick (College Avenue campus for those of you familiar with the area and not too far from the oh so wonderfully unhealthy grease trucks) However, sadly, the night I found them, there was no permit. Will keep you guys posted if I find anything different.
