I was thinking what is the plural for poi? Is it pois? I really hope not because I hate that word pois, its so ugly sounding isnt it. To me poi sounds like it could be plural itself, but who decides how things are pluraled anyway, has it allready been done?

'Poi' are a traditional Maori dance prop from New Zealand
Note the "are", implying that "Poi" is the collective noun.
Its like sheep and fish.
The singular noun is the same as the collective.

Maybe we've all got it wrong and "poi" actually is the pural, whith the singular "po"
Or maybe it's got an irregular pural that not one has discovered yet...

lol my cousins used to call them pwah then giggle uncontrollably. Then my mum started calling them phio balls with a an f sound grrrr! Lets see what else did she call them 'poi poi's-or whatever there called' was flying around for a few days once too, used to make me cringe

Haha, that happened to my brother, except he used the full stop instead of a hyphen... make sure you get a new one quick or you'll get used to it like he did and not be able to use the space again! Try.it..it's.fun.for.a.while!
Also, i heard recently that fishes had been added to the dictionary as the plural of fish cos too many people used it...

That word is an abomination of the english language, the plural of fish is fish, how can anyone not know that? Whenwas the alst time you heard anyone saying 'a school of fishes'

Well no, pie would be plural soo if you remove one poi from the pie, then you are left with a singular poi.
