Also, I would recommend that you sit down and review product information and customer reviews on products, you will find endless information here in the forum on all types and makes of poi.

I know how exciting it might be to want to play with fire, so therefore you should review all safety articles located in the Articles section.

The Free lessons pages and the poi moves section have endless listings for beginners to advanced in easy to follow text some maybe accompanied with videos.

It might be worth you informing your parents that there are experienced people that can advise you online, you could even sit down with your parents and show them some videos, I'm sure that if they are worried about what you are getting in to then show them this forum about safety articles etcetera and get them to assist you.

Rather than asking if anyone can send you toys, you could read about how to make your own too.

If you have any questions please use the "Search" button and review posts before posting the same questions that arise time and time again.

I wish you luck.

hug

lots, and lots and lots of practice before you even consider lighting up anything. you need to be totally confident you can do what you intend to do without hitting yourself even with unlit heads first please.
and then follow the other safety regs especially having a safety person present.

Glow stringing would probably be perfect for you right now, and their really easy to make and learn with. All you need is shoestrings and glowsticks/leds(probably easier to find glowsticks, which you can buy at any party supply store.) They may sting a little, but they help you get the basics, and give you something you can perform with and feel good about. As for fire spinning, I spun for two years before i started doing fire. It may be a little extreme, but I had issues with parents as well. You need to convince them that you have achieved a high level of control with your poi, and can spin consistently wtihout hitting yourself. Or wait until your eighteen.
The "search button" is your friend.

And when you get to a decent level, make us a video and ask us to post our remarks if we thing that you have gained the confidence and skills, so that your parents can read and then maybe they will let you try fire.

I'm sure if you stick with it for a while your parents will eventually be ok with fire. A big no no would be to spin fire behind there backs at a friends or something. Just keep with it and in a couple months ask if they are still dead set on you not spinning fire. Also remember, spinning fire doesnt make you better.

p.s. If after a year or so your parents still dont let you and you are very confident you can safely spin fire talk to them and if they STILL wont let you tell them that they are hindering your artistic side and pushing you into running away to join the circus.
