Myself and Sonal are planning on a workshop tour around Ireland, Germany and anywhere else close by, if there is enough interest in one place we will come to teach you! Spread the word!
Depending on the level of the students we have two workshop
possibilities, it is also possible to adjust the workshop to the level
of the people.
Back to Basics (for all levels)
Going back to the foundations of poi, looking with fresh eyes at our understanding and ability, pushing towards perfection.
Exploring concepts such as:
-direction and timing,
-turning and finding freedom to play and flow,
-flowers,
-pendulums,
-stalls,
-isolation.
-learning to learn – learning theory, ideas and techniques
-movement and the mind body connection
Diving Deeper: (intermediate to advanced poi)
Where
do we go next? Exploring advanced poi techniques and concepts, going
deeper into the mind body connection. Discovering how we can layer
movement with information and intention, and transform it.
Exploring concepts such as:
-advanced spin and anti spin patterns
-hybrids
-advanced isolations
-pendulums,
-stacks and constructs
-exploring different movement concepts and techniques
-adding effect to movement
-going deeper into the mind body connection
Workshops take place over 2 days, 4 hours formal workshop per day + as much play time as we want!
Per person workshops cost 40 euro for one day , or 70 euro for both [We don't want to turn people who really want to learn away so if money is whats stopping you please get in contact and if there is still space maybe we can work something out]

This weekend (9th-10th April) in Tullamore we'll be teaching 2 days of the foundations of poi (the "Back to Basics" workshop above). Aimed at beginner - intermediate but very useful for all levels. Aimed at giving a solid base framework from which exploration becomes easy.
I will probably be teaching a workshop in Galway at the juggling society on Tuesday (12th), another with Galway Community Circus on Wednesday(13th), and if there is interest (and we can find a space) we can teach a 4 hour intensive that weekend.
Hope to create real learning experiences and to push the level of everyone who attends
