Today I started to learn the staff with a stick with some socks on the end. I have been doing poi for about 2 months and am enjoying every last second of it...and now staff! I am loving the staff already and am interested in new moves as IO have almost got all of the ones in the Staff Lessons section. If anyone wants to help me that would be greatly appreciated!
Sweet as.

Neo:Wow, that sounds like a really good deal, but I have a better one. How about I give you the finger and you give me my phone call?

Poor Fwirl, being given the spoon talk by us barmy staffers!

My advice would be to go through old threads after you have acquainted yourself with the terms used by everyone with staffing (Naming Staff Moves IV by Charles)and print off lots of threads to take with you to your spinning spot. When/if you get stuck on them give us a shout.

A conspiracy of silence speaks louder than words...

There seems to be too much mention of *cough*spoons*cough* here so I made up a little verse

Spinning it is our desire,
Poi, staff and swords with fire,
Over our heads,
Or under our legs,
Never too tame is that fire

(ok I struggled on the last line but it is 6 am )

Thanks Bender,

I actually find it quite relaxing to play round with words and it is a particularly good way to do it - take a word and start each line of a little verse about something you enjoy with the corresponding letter of the word

dosent always work though I sometimes get stuck for ages on one line (but then I just forget about it and go and spin )

i thought a palindrome was a word that read the same backwards as it does forwards

Might just be me though I was never that good at languages

Ah thanks to Dictionary.com I prove myself right

pal·in·drome Pronunciation Key (pln-drm)
n.
1. A word, phrase, verse, or sentence that reads the same backward or forward. For example: A man, a plan, a canal, Panama!
2. A segment of double-stranded DNA in which the nucleotide sequence of one strand reads in reverse order to that of the complementary strand.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[From Greek palindromos, running back again, recurring : palin, again; see kwel-1 in Indo-European Roots + dromos, a running.]

According to Monty Python, Bolton is a palindrome

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
