Hello wave

Name: Molly (or Caro in a different world)

Age: 24, but it's my silver jubilee soon smile

Location: Lovely Edinburgh, oh it says that over there... But born and bred a Londoner.

Occupation: PhD student (entymology and bacteriology - ie. mash flies and see what's going on in their bellies. mmmm.) Oh, and part-time Queen.

Toys: BLUEBELL the most gorgeous blue blue tech ubblove Tulip my beautiful contact stick, poi and a sadly neglected devilstick. I think it had angel sticks with it somewhere (firey handsticks as well as a firey devilstick) but haven't played with them for so long.... and of course, young molly mole, who aspires to great juggling prowess, but is hampered by the shortness of her paws and the complete absence of the ability to hold anything with just one paw. She is the little furry blur that is my avatar, in her christmas incarnation as the mole of war.

Hobbies: Beltane Fire Society, the slack hippy calendar of my life. Dancing, most especially swing. contact girl is the way forward, if only I could get round the friction burns. Gardening, herbs and vegetables mostly. There's only so much you can do with a daffodil. Sewing stuff, costumery especially. Camping, brewing, jam and CAKE ubblove

Favourite colour (before anyone asks... you know who you are):

blue but yes pink is fine and dandy, it even tried to take over my world for a week in August when my little niece was born smile

um, that'll do I think...

oh one more thing,

I had the immense pleasure of meeting quite a few HoP-folk round and about this summer and if they are anything to go by, you are all beautiful lovely people hug

what a fabby place ubblove

now, tea and cake all round and cushions aplenty

No I don't think I have.
But that's only one cheer for each bosom. Sounds a bit mean to me.

Have you made a hoop yet?

Where in Germany are you going on a conference, Molly? I know the Max Planck in Tübingen does a lot to flies, but that's all fruit flies. And zebrafish. And Xenopusses.

I'm far more excited about the travel than the conference really. It's entirely about quantitative real time PCR, which just happens to be the bane of my life at the moment.

Of course by the time I get to the conference I'll have finished my experiments (touch wood) so it'll only be good for telling me all the things I should have done differently rolleyes

Is a xenopussy like a Siamese cat? But only if you aren't in Siam? wink

Weihenstephan? Mmmmmmmmhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmm Weißbier!!! They make good yoghurts and creamy stuff, too.

A whole conference about real time PCR sounds like a bad idea to me. But then, I don't like conferences in general.

You're absolutely right about the xenopussy. Strangely, they don't like reproducing in captivity, so that new ones have to be imported from South Africa all the time. Not Siam. Hence Xenopussy biggrin

Hooping definitely seems to be an outdoor sport. Or at least a big room one. Unless you take up finger hooping of course.

Maybe I'll introduce you to it later tonight? smile Ooo and I never did try that delicious-looking mead... biggrin

Tell you what, if you introduce me to finger hoopin, I'll introduce you to the mead.

Definately need a bigger living room though. Can't hoop, can't spin doubles, can't fit all our junk in it.... rolleyes Or possibly a garden to play in, one which doesn't have inconvenient washing lines.

And you were an absolute SuperStar (teehee) for bringing all that tubing and making so many hoops.

I hope your ankle isn't too bruised - walking boots are definitely the way forward in learning kick-ups.

Mmm... nice to meet you ladies also. Though both Skully and Vixen's avatar don't do them justice. Come to think of it Molly's photo of the Mole in a bow isn't even a particularly flattering one.

You're all lovely. smile

And Skully, NOW can you start saving up change in a piggy bank to come visit us in New York next year? biggrin

I can save up pennies.... its just the flying I can't do. I get claustrophobic in planes and panic. I was bad enough just going to Ireland!

The biscuits were indeed yummy. Thank you! They had a strange way of melting in your mouth, especially when you put custard on the top of them first! ubblol
