hey yall
that thread by cassandra got me interested in some fire fans. so 2 days and a couple hours (!! little did i expect) later. here we are:

https://people.tamu.edu/~mtw3530/gallery/firefans%20005.jpg

a little on the heavy side imo, however since i haven't held any other rigid style fans i don't know. it's 1/4" rod welded, the radials are ~2'. no wicking yet, need to finish cleanup of arc splatter. it's a prototype ok!

i'll post action pics at some point. i've played with them for just a few minutes, they are really hot out of the shop. they need another hour or two of finish work to make em hand friendly.

peace

; ) oh yeah, that reference is a ~8" marker. i've been playing with the fans a bit. i don't know, they're a little oddly weighted, the hands aren't as comfortable as i was envisioning. i'm thinking about trying tube instead of rod next time to save on weight. the balance will change when i put some practice wicking on later.
