sorry about the thread title. i couldn't think of a good name for the move.
so. here it is:
airwrap, catch one end, spin the free end around your left side, then release and catch the other end, spin the now free end round the right side.
can be continued ad nauseam. and in reverse, and inside, and outside, and all over the place.
mmm.
somebody please tell me my thread title is wrong. unless you're NYC, then [censored] off

do you mean catching the head in your hand mid airwrap and letting the handles go? or going into an airwrap and letting one handles go like a diablo suicide?

no releasing of handles.
catching and releasing ends so you've a continuous left inside right tangle with catches...
suicides are passe

i think i get you.
assuming that to be the case:
instead of catching the ends, you could stall them onto your shoulders. spiralx + bovril were doing similar stuff at a recent spitz. Not the same pattern though...
you can spin the poi thats going through the loop 2 ways:
so that it's forming a 'nexus' at one bit of the loop
or so that it never comes into contact with the edges of the loop at all
(ie. the centre of the loop and the nonlooped poi have the same centre of rotation)
but i bet you knew that already

IF you mean that you're holding two handles and one end while one end flies free (airwrapped) then the raver kids have been..

It's a basic transition for a color changing airwrap or to get in or out of a gumby.
Another related but not so... is catching one poi under the arm pit.
Then you have that poi's string to do 'thru wraps' on and such with the free poi.
