HI, this a a brief introduction to me!
My name is Michelle. Im 24, my birthday is january 15th
Im from southend-on-sea in essex but i spend a lot of my time in london too (uni, friends, poi - why cant they be closer to home?!)
I am a psychology degree student but im currently trying to find another university - mine sucks!
As well as the spinning i spend my time at the stables (i have my own horse), kickboxing, wasting time on the computer, listening to music (mainly alternative), going to clubs, and making things (clothes, jewellery, weird hair accessories etc) and reading - oh and i love swimming in the sea (even if i did cut my foot there yesterday!)
I like anything bright and colourful and anything that glows and/or glows in the dark (its a wonderful concept) and i like being happy and bouncy and perhaps mildly insane - in a good way!
And i hate having to tidy up - which is what im meant to be doing!
Lots of people tell me i ought to be on home of poi so here i am, i think i recognise some names and people from play and spitz - but im usually too wasted to actually remember peoples names!
I do poi and staff, i am trying to learn to juggle, i have tried contact juggling - badly - i have a unicycle so i go 'pedal, pedal - splat!' and i bought devil sticks the other week (two quid from a toy shop - bargin!)
Umm, cant think of anything else, that'll do then! wavehello

Hello. You have the same birthday as me biggrin

Presumably that means you too can look forward to HoP people getting confused and giving you birthday wishes in December. And then totally forgetting in January.

Hi Michelle,

what happened to the nightmare you announced in the title of your thread? Or is having a thread already the nightmare? biggrin

hello back to everyone who said hello, its very nice of you and i feel duly welcomed!

and now to answer the questions:-

jo rhymes - yes i loved play this year and last year, it is well worth going to the farthest west i have ever been (and being somewhere where signs are also written in welsh) to spend days in the company of other mad, twirling, throwing (and usually cathcing), stoned pyromainiacs! (and any normal people who are also there!) and thank you for the rainbow - its lovely!

cantus - its a good day to have a birthday on and yes people always wish me happy birthday before christmas - but getting combined christmas and birthday presents is worse, after all they are 3 weeks apart (exactly 3 weeks - christmas of one year is the same day of the week as birthday of the next year, also confusing that two importnant days so close together are actually in different calander years - i am therefore grateful that i work in academic years!)

laihia - my horse is called gully, which is short for gulliver (he only gets called that for shows or when he is naughty - these things frequently happen simultaneously) i chose it myself and i got the idea from the book gullivers travels - which i first read years ago and am now reading to my horse - as one of the worlds is inhabited by horses called whynym (i cant spell it but it sounds like a horse whinnying)

aurinko - welcome to my nightmare is an alice cooper lyric/song and i guess i chose it to use in the subject because a) as you said having a thread is something of a nightmare as this is my first encounter of internet forum-ing (although i joined myspace at the same time so i guess it is a joint first technically) and b) because i consider my life to be something of a nightmare at times and this is an introduction, or welcome, to my life - or nightmare. well, i thought it was clever!

lilith in london - i agree, spitalfields rocks, a good place for poi and by day a good market (kind of an upmarket camden in someways)

Anyway, i guess thats all the replying i can think of - im going to bed! (it is 4:30 am after all) - i really need to get a signature on this thing. oh well.

I would LOVE to go - some people told me about falmouth at play and it sounds great - but there are some problems i would need to get around first.

Mainly its getting there - its about 8 hours journey and as i would have to leave mid afternoon on the thursday (saddler coming lunchtimeish, cannot be rescheduled) i would get there at about midnight - which might be too late and disturb other campers. plus i dont know how i would get from the station to the campsite - i cant even find them on a map!

Also its food - at play i rely on the food tent, i dont know i could fend for myself camping for that long - i need more than just pringles and nutrigrain bars and thats all i bring cos i know i can get fed by food tent people - if theres no food tent i would starve!! eek i guess i could get a camp stove and such but i dont know it would prevent me from starving - i am quite useless at such things!

oh well - i have a while to work it out, i hope i do make it

Yeah my spinny thing came from play - best thing i ever spent my last fiver on!! (thank god for random change congregating in the corner of my tent or i wouldnt have got breakfast!) I want to work out how to make them, the electronics i can manage, its the moulded plastic case which is gonna be hard.

Lego is awesome, but painful to step on, mine is at home and im away at uni frown
