Hello all,

My name is Lisa Marie. I write from good old Pennsylvania in the US of A. I am currently a medical school student (done with the first 2 years, the hard part - Yay!).

I have way too many hobbies, including: photography, music (guitar, singing, flute), rock-climbing, anything outdoors (hiking, backpacking, camping), running, reading, crocheting, traveling when possible, soccer and volleyball, and I am addicted to ultimate frisbee and currently suffering from withdrawal.

My favorite color is definitely green, I really like a lot of food but particularly potatos and good fresh vegetables and ice cream - Mint Chocolate chip. I don't think I can pick one favorite song or book. Some top movies are "Princess Bride" and on a totally different note, "Shawshenk Redemption".

My dreams for the future are to finish school, get out of debt, get married and have a bunch of kids, and go to some remote part of a 3rd world country (maybe Tanzania) to give medical aid to those who have none while sharing the joy, peace and hope I've found in faith in Jesus Christ with everyone I meet!

And every bush afire with God;
But only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit around it and pluck blackberries."

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Welcom to HOP! grouphug

On another noteubbidea...and I am not trying to scare you or anything but you might want to be a bit less informative about your personal information...I just read a thread about keeping alot of that personal info a bit more of a secret because of identity theft and pervertsspank. It is like the thread says...we always think that it will never happen to us. Sorry for being a kind of kill joy...I am not trying to be really, just trying to help out. bye

facelessshadow - thanks for looking out for me =) That's why I didn't give my phone number or address and stuff out! I was just following the questions in the sample thread . . . .anyway - does it look better now? =) It may not be a good thing but I don't want to relinquish all my naivety and innocence. =)

what's wrong with this information, there is probably less here than in many other threads?
first name, location, hobbies, aspirations, food...?

Yes, I did have my full name and the name of my town but I think that's about all I changed.
But don't worry, no offense taken =) - I appreciate the concern.
I've also felt very welcome to this website! I just wish I could meet some of you people in person and have you teach me more spinning - I find it difficult to learn from videos! Plus the fact that I don't practice enough . Being involved in this site is inspiring, though it's often too cold outside and the ceiling's too low inside making it difficult!
By the way - Any advice on figuring out the tuck turn? I've very comfortable with the low and high turn and cork screw and low wave but the tuck turns been frustrating me off and on for months - and the video goes too quickly to watch the hands or the poi to really be able to see the motion. Any advice is welcome!

i stand corrected on the too much infor

you can sometimes shorten your poi to make them work inside or dress in layers to spin outside...
i didn't spend a lot of time looking at the lessons, just putzed around putting stuff together and then, oh, look it's called something

don't really practice much now...work and home and exes keeping me busy

Another thing you can do is search for people in your area, it is a large community of HOPers and you should be able to find someone somewhat near your living location. There is a search engine on HOP where you can search for people. Take advantage of that.

Yeah, you have to understand, I live in the-middle-of-nowhere northcentral Pa in a not particularly artsy town. I tried the search engine and found nothing. But I'll keep working on my own! Thanks!
