You can't avoid pain by fencing yourself from it.

But you have to let them close enough to help......

In the Cirque du soleil show Varekai one of the characters has fire gloves. They kind of emit a poof or bolus of propane or butane which he cups with his hands and manipulates. The gloves aren't actually on fire. The big problem with any prop that is attatched to you and on fire is heat. Even the guys in the aluminum playing-with-lava sutes get "soaked out" or over heated. If this happens to your gloves and you can't take them off fast enough... bad burns on your hands. If you can controll the amount of fire and the time it's there, you can probrably pull it off. If not it's hospital time. Believe me been there done that it's not fun.

Good luck biggrin

There is stuff called pyro gell that protects your skin. Check out Magician supply websites. Depending on how you make these gloves you'll probably want to keep the burn time down. The padding and insulation can be your demise. I my case it backfired and cooked my leg like an oven after the fire was out.

What effect are you going for here? Are you familliar with fire fingers and palm torches? The effect may not be worth the risk. confused I'm visualizing hands on fire dancing arround rave style. If that's the case maybee use the kevlar gloves and a small wicked stick/ball/thingy in each hand. That way you can bail from the prop and still have the "hands on fire" effect. biggrin

You can do liquid type stuff with fire fingers but its not the same kind of liquid youre probably used to. Instead of waving your fingers at the joints, youre gonna be making a motion as if taping your fingers on a desk when youre waiting for something... If you get what I mean.

Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes.
We'll blaze a new trail,
and torch the rough patches.
