hey garbo - are you talking about comets??? if they are made of nylon it should be possible to clean them using a wet cloth (perhaps with some soap on it too) - i haven't tried it but my set seems that it can easily tolerate that - i wouldn't put them in a washing machine if i were you though (in my case i would have to put the whole set in and not just the tails - don't know what would happen but i wouldn't risk it although the seem - perhaps if they are reeaaally dirty you can put them tails in cold water with detergent and clean them with a cloth but even this might not be such a good idea...btw i bought my set from this site (ultimate performance comet poi), maybe if you are using a different set the above don't apply... oh well maybe it's a good idea to wait till Malcolm's reply though happy swinging,Simos

You can wash nylon rip-stop commet poi in the washing machine if you put them inside a pillowcase and tie the top up. Use only non biological wash powder though as biological effects the fabric and it no longer glows as bright(why this is I don't know).One Love,Thistlefirepixie.

The tails of my Poi got filthy at an outdorr rave. I washed them with soap and water and hung them up to dry, after which I ironed them with a damp cloth over them, to get them crisp and new looking again. Then I trimmed the edges that had frayed from people slamming the tails into the ground. They looked nice and new(ish) again, although I think I should probably be more careful about leaving my Poi stuff out for all and sundry to use and abuse. Some people are very careless when belongings aren't theirs, (learned from past experience of scratched cd's, jackets with cigarette burns, lost books...).
