Anyone know how to do the braiding to hold the poi balls? I don't mean the regular three ply braid, but the thick braid that looks like cording? Let me know if you know. Please and thank you. Mi

I'm knot sure if this is the kind of thing you're after: -

It's a braid I use quite a lot cos it's fast and easy to do once you've got the hang of it, and it gives a nice symmetrical round profile.

If your anything like me and crap at braiding (or plaiting) you could just get 9 pieces of string and plait them in threes then plait them all together?!

The standard three-way plait will result in the string being flattened. By using the method Dave posted above, you end with a circular cross-section, which is soooooo much nicer to spin with.
