Posted: Well, I guess I have been truly initiated into the fire twirling community. This weekend I got my first poi-related burn. That's right I got my first poi about 2.5 months ago and lit them up about a week later. Then yesterday morning I was outside working on improving a bunch of tricks that I know the basics of, and working on the transitions between them, twirling away to Sun Project and Fractal Glider - using the rhythm to work it all together. About an hour or so of this with my shirt off in the sunny, 30C Adelaide weather and I got sun burned... Hence, my first poi-related burn. Just as well that the poi weren't lit since my back was covered in sooty impact marks - I still keep it very simple when they are lit
