A Request
Could I ask people to look at their avatar files because I've noticed that:
1- a lot of them are actually big images that then get squashed down to 80x80
2- Some of them have file sizes a lot larger than necessary. It's important that your avatar isn't a big file size as there are still a lot of people viewing HoP on dial up and even light avatars will add quite a lot to the download of the page.
So if you're creating your own avatars please resize the images to 80x80 and optimize the file size. For the less technical amongst you, if you need any help with your images let me know. I can't replace images myself but I can send refined images to you to reupload.
For those on a slow connection or those that do not wish to see avatars this can be turned off in your profile.

here here dom - less is more when we'ere talking bandwith or plumbers' butt cleavage.
i too offer to optimise and resize avatars on the behalf of Hopsters while we still have avatars.
