If I may, I'd like to direct you to a button on the top of the screen you're looking at right now (How'd I know?! Must be psychic) called "Search". Change the date from 2 weeks to "Any Date" or something similar and search for 'BTB weave' or 'behind the back' or 'behind the back weave' or 'dancing monkey tigers' or whatever you so choose. You'll find dozens and dozens of BTB topics to your liking.

Start of rant [Mill PLEASE stop telling every newbe that asks for help to use the "search" i know it gets anoying that the same Q gets asked 1 million times, but what are you going to do about it, i find it more anoying that you have to tell them and show them the door... umm i mean search. Some people just post cause they wanna be part of the hop community, others to make online friends] end of rant.

Back to topic, yes the search is awsome but there are some cool [Old link] and also the Free lessons are cool till u get really advanced. weavesmiley

But if you want some basic advice, id say most people start spining 1 hand btb while doing something with the other hand. If you can do that, then learn butterflys btb (both ways) and after that you will start to learn 3 bt behind the back weaves. Or just crossing you hands btb. Dont give up, sometimes it seems to get real hard but its not as hard as you think and its all worth it when u finally nail it!!! biggrin beerchug

I understand what you're saying, but I don't think I'm alone in my thought of not wanting to search through a million of the same exact topic that says:

How do I make colored flames?
What's a hyperloop?
OMG!!! I INVENTED A NEW MOVE!
What's an airwrap?
5 beat weave...
4 beat weave...
3 beat weave...
7 beat weave?!?
What's the difference between a hyperloop and an airwrap?

If that was on the front page, I don't think you'd be too happy. Do you really expect someone to type out an entire response to each one of these questions every time it appears? If not, you're asking someone else to use the search function FOR you, and copy+pasting it in there... quite lazy if you ask me frown

Mill's right, this part of the forum (technical, poi, staff and related sections) was created to try to filter out a lot of the useless (in terms of learning) stuff that is now found in the social section, ie its not for socialising.

Additionally, one of the original intensions of asking people to do a search before posting was to stop the search function from becoming useless by flooding out original content with 100s of posts with the same general help me! questions and answers. Its about not re-inventing the wheel.

Carbon Black, your question is welcomed, as long as you have at least attempted a search on this topic. You say you have, but I'm surprised that the literally 100s of posts on this topic havent shed any light for you?

Remember you can post in an existing thread if you want clarification of what someone has written in that thread. It often allows others to provide you with more focussed help if they can see the other learning ideas that havent helped you, rather than just provide you with the same answers youve just been reading in the search results.

Cheers,

Josh

i completely agree.

but

The search function on this site isn't simple even for those who aren't technologically challenged. It's really unhelpful the way it's started doing searches by post rather than thread since we moved to the new board. The default search settings are pretty useless. It's often difficult to determine what exactly what phrases to search for.

If these topics do really crop up so often, and searching is so simple, then why don't we reply with links to the relevant topics where they have been discussed?

Also when looking at old threads, they're often missing more recent developments in understanding or refined advice that comes to light if a new thread is created. Especially in the case of BTB help threads or similar where the advice is split across loads of threads. This is of course due to the problem of not searching in the first place, but if such these threads were compiled somehow then i think it would help.

anyway [Old link] [Old link] [Old link] [Old link] [Old link] [Old link] smile

edit - this is very good too

i posted some stuff about whats the difference between certain items in the shop, i was told to uyse the search function.. but wat am i gona search? "diff between items in shop?" and in the search function u are given links to the same topic but 1 link each time someone posted about it so u get 50 times the same link **sigh..
i still diddnt get my answers bout the shop come to think of it frown

but about the btb, like they say do it one hand at a time starting from a buterfly, but make sure your going in the right direction, if your going an outward btfly u can toss it behind same way u'de be swinging your arm if u were walking, if your going inward, toss it over yur shoulders if u do the oposite at furst biggrin u will get hurt mad

enjoy peace

To restate what I said in my second post:

If you want someone to use the search function for you and link you to it because you're too lazy to do it yourself, you're not someone who I'd be perticularly inclined to help.

i think you should ask dentrassi for help. i've seen one of his vid's and he is uber talented! he has wrap's galore! if he has wrap's down that good then i think it's safe to assume that he is a master at btb moves!

if you have a question about items in the shop, you should address them to malcolm directly who, like an angel from the shire keeps both this site up and running and the hop shop in business smile

s'nice and easy:

hover over the word 'contacts' on the main menu bar at the top of every hop screen.
click the words 'contact shop'.

"i see you at 'dis cafe.
i come to 'dis cafe quite a lot myself.
they do porridge."
