Hello, wavehello

I'm Helen, 25 years old from Dublin, Ireland. I currently work in a library restoring historic maps, but as of this Friday, i will be jacking that in to go travelling, starting with Burning Man sunny

I've been spinning poi for a couple of years now, and playing with a fire wheel (thanks Squarefish!). I lurked for ages on HOP because i was shy ubbangel but recently i've had the pleasure of meeting a lot of the other Irish spinners who post here, and i've realised what i was missing out on by not getting to know more of you lovely people grouphug

I'll be camped with the Paddy Mirage at Burning Man, so please come over for a pint if you're around! beerchug

Hope to meet more of you (and pick up a few tricks wink )

Thanks for reading this,

Helen

BTW, sláinte means "good health" or "cheers" in Gaelic in case anyone was confused

So,

wavehello

i thought i'd bump my thread, because a lot seems to have changed, so i thought i'd re-introduce myself.

I got back from travelling in April (still really missing the jugglers rest, not to mention the lovely spinners i met in nz ubbcrying). I knew after managing a juggling themed hostel that there was no way i could go back to being a librarian - spinster or otherwise wink

While having lots of time on my hands, i decided i'd volunteer to help out with the EJC , coming to Ireland in 2006, which you probably all know about already. I spent the summer working on that, and travelling around and meeting up with the wonderful Irish spinning community grouphug

The summer ended with a trip to the EJC in Slovenia - a working holiday really, but one that had a very happy ending for me ubblove

Since then, i've been working really hard to get the convention together, and gaining experience with other festivals wherever i can - Festival of World Cultures, Dublin Electronic Arts Festival, Dublin International Film Festival....and hopefully many more. I'm going to start a diploma in Event Management in February, and hopefully, once i have my life back after the EJC, i'm going to do a masters degree in Cultural Policy and Arts Management.

I just thought i'd share how wandering around the world and doing what i loved has finally led me (almost) into a career path that i want to follow ubbrollsmile

hugs to all my friends, wherever you are

just as i thought.
yay!
boys rule (although girls are better (in my opinion...)) hehe
life is good and good, better daily...
im going to raglan for a music festival (called soundsplash) and that is next weekend... unfortunately i cant take time off work again so soon to go to the same place! suck! including raglan is like 7-8 hours drive away, and fuel prices being what they are, etc... its an expense... especially considering im just getting my acupuncture business off the ground and everything... too low on cash to go to soundsplash, but you know how it is...! think i will definitely go to next years juggling convention, though...
i have been playing around with juggling a bit too. also some short staff (esp. contact! woo!)...
gotta new job at a health store, so i get to learn all about supplements and the likes, goes rather well with the acu.
have a lovely girlfriend (almost 6 months! my how time flies!)...
so whats the deal with this guy? is he still in slovenia?
hughug
yay!
