Not sure how many people have seen a car stolen, but today i saw it. It took less than 30 seconds for the guy to go from trying to get in, to driving off. It was amazing how quick it was. Though, if you see Adelaides news tonight, you'll see the car almost in the Torrens river.

Um... my partner used to steal cars (when he was young and stupid, he's a much wiser man now). It is scarily quick and easy to do. Never seen it in real life, but my car got broken in to twice in 2 weeks once, I was very upset. First time they smashed the window, second time they broke the lock. Annoying thing was, they didn't actually take anything except a couple of old mix tapes.
I don't think anyone would want to steal the actual car, it's a rusty old thing.

My sisters not so nice flatmate, had the entire front of her car stolen the other day. Left the engine and axles but stripped everything else. I have to say I was quite impressed that in a very quiet neighbourhood you could get away with such a thing without allerting anyone. Must have had rubber spanners...

My g/f went to a show in a rough part of liverpool (figures) and when she left the performance there, 7 cars had been broken into and 4 stolen.

I've got a really old car too - one that would probably break down if stolen. About 3 weeks ago some dick knicked the wing mirrors off it, which I was really
off about. Funny thing is the boot wasn't locked and there were some nice speakers in the back which would have been far nicer to steal!Silly buggers...

I got a funnyish story ... long story short, somebody broke into my new car (without doing any damage) and moved the seats and the mirror and took...
My fuzzy dice and two burned CDs.
I thought it was a sign and got an alarm the next day.

I've had windows smashed, twice. Had hub caps stolen and had brake fluid poured over my car. My only problem is that to have the windows replaced cost me as much as the car, $500.

that's why I only pay about 400 bucks for a car. No one wants to steal it, no one even thinks its worth breaking into. Get a crappy looking car with a great engine and a great system, and you'll still be all good.

have seen a car nicked at a petrol station in London from a bus on my way to a christmas ball last year. Dude went to pay for his petrol, 3 kids jumped in and drove off. All of what, 3 seconds? never leave your car unlocked in any way in London. Mind you I also saw someone get mugged outside my window, and a mate who lives further out saw a car get petrol bombed down a nearby street. But that's another story... can't wait to get out of london!

Late on Christmas eve, some idiots smashed in all the car windows on our road so on christmas day everyone woke up to having their cars wrecked and no transport to get to xmas dinner and loved ones etc, that was so horrible

I'll second that, It's a horrible, scary place. Not better than the U.S. at all. I saw a guy smoking a crack pipe while he was waiting in his car at traffic lights the other morning. Not good. Plus guys keep trying to kerb-crawl me in the evenings when I wait for the bus.

Some low life scum stole my beetle last month. I cant tell you how livid i was. Its not as if you can miss it either its quite distinctive. Its a custom one off. So that only means one thing. These
are gonna strip it and sell it off in bits!!
