So I read four or five intro post to see what I was supposed to write I found out that really I could put anything I like up here. So...

I have walked on this earth for twenty years now. I am from Temple Tx, but currently I am an acting student at Emerson College in Boston MA. I started poi, 10 days ago. I first saw fire spinners last summer at the Kerville Folk Festival. A guy and a girl lit up and danced together and by the end of the show everyone in the audience and most everyone within a fifteen mile radius had an orgasm and I decided I needed to learn how to do that. Almost a year went by and last week in the park I saw someone doing it with tennis balls instead of fire and it hit me-- I didn't have to learn with fire, infact that would probably be a bad idea and the next day I made a set and I have been outside practicing a few hours a day ever sense, I am hooked.

Basic and interesting facts:

I am an actor.

My favorite movies are Tombstone, The Princess Bride, The Point,
Night at the Opera.

My Favortie Books are Survivor, The Princess Bride, Cat's Cradle.

My Favortie Play is Dylan, by Sidney Micheals (About Dylan Thomas' three tours to America)

My Favorite part I have ever played is Bosola in The Dutchess of Malfi.

My favorite colors are blue and green.

I love folk and bluegrass music.

I am a Bokononist.

I am an ordained reverend.

My hobbies include the following: Acting, swimming, spinning (both poi and actually spinning in circles until I fall down), being naked, music, sculpting, painting and creating in any way I can.

I hope to one day be able to play the violin and the irish fiddle.

Thats what I have got.

You are a bokononist too gita-- you just don't know it yet. Read Kurt Vonnegut Jr.'s "Cat's Cradle" and all will become clear to you. And as far as the Reverend part goes, I was asked to preform a wedding and had to get a quicky ordination. The wedding never happened but I still have my credintials.

Hello and welcome to HoP!

wave weavesmiley

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Thank you everyone-- I quite like it here. I think I'll stay a while.

Firepoise-- there is no difference in the two instroments-- just the style which they are played.

Hiya Azadondo, I must say you sound quite intriguing. Just wondering, how high on the holy authority scale do you have to be before you can perform an exorcism? biggrin

Warm welcome btw wave

Cathlics have the only outline for the exorsism ritual "The Rituale Romanum" (it was last revised in the 50's to change the definition for "person possessed by satan" to not include people with mental illnesses). They would tell you that you have to be a cathlic priest, or higher, and be trained in the art of exorsisms in order to preform one. However, Prodestants also beleive in exorsisms, but they don't have any clear textual guidelines for them so as far as they are concerned, if you think you have got a shot at getting rid of a deamon-- go for it buddy!

Wow that's more of an extensive answer than I hoped for! Cheers. What I figure though, is these days in a world where webdesigners don't make as much as they used to (because everyone and his/her lemming can do it..), anyone can perform an exorcism. I'll just whop the fella with my poi til the demon comes out, then vacuum it up a la Bill Murray..

mmm vacuum..

biggrin
