"...I'm a man of wealth and taste." peace

Greetings to all cursed people! Paul Rule at your service.

I'm located in a physical form that is able to move.

Home is where-Everrrrr my form is at the moment. (ewwwww!)

I was never born and will never die. angel2

age: Eternal sunny

Sex: Why not!

Writing about the human experience is my passion and employment.

Anything organic and vegan are my culinary choices. (Gracious, put some weight on this man!). "Thin is to win".

Luv awl dem purtee culurs.

My favorite toy since I was a wee one was the Frisbee. For three years now, I have been attempting to have a 'oneness' experience with most of the fire toys that I got introduced to at Burning Man three years ago. So far, the fire staff seems to be easier on me when I make a mistake. I like that!

Debate is my addiction. Arguing is my sworn enemy. Any discussion on politics or spirituality is highly encouraged.
Philosophy, sociology, history, psycology and gettin' it onnnn!
Reading about and defending 'the underdog'. Back packin'.

education: every second I'm awake.

Books: Bible, Koran, Bhaga vita, Diet for a new America, Be here now, Toward the one, (Does this guy ever have any fun?)

My favorite Author: Mark Twain. Born and died on Halley's Comet.

Movies: Groundhog Day, Shrek, What the 'bleep' do we know,
Fahrenheit 911, Wallace and Gromit, and Deep Throat ubbloco

TV: Faulty Towers, Mash, Frasier, and Northern Exposure.(The Best) clap

I hope to write a 'best seller'. I am presently writing a book,
'The History of The Fire Arts'. "Das why I'is here". biggrin

Fun fact: Burning Man may well be the best time for anyone, anywhere. Off the chart! wow

Boring fact: Bush is a complete idiot! (DUUUHH, ya think?!)

Music/musicians: I wouldn't know where to begin. YES!, All of it!

WATER from a spring high up in the mountains on a hot day.

I hope to cuddle with each and every one of you. (Awwwww).
Any information that you might have on people or events that have contributed to the birth of this recent embrace of the fire arts world wide, give me a shout at ruckandrule@yahoo.com

Peace in this troubled world begins with me. The karma stops here!

For the last three years, good buddy. biggrin I will never miss one as long as they keep aputtin' them on.

Since I have posted my first thread, I have done a LOT of reading. Laying back and taking it all in, you might say. I have noticed that there has been quite a few discussions on Burning Man. Many different opinions. I would like to share mine.

meditateThe one word that stands above all other words is freedom. What good is love, joy, peace, or any virtue or divine feeling, if one doesn't have the freedom to learn it, express it or share it, grow from it or teach another about it, if freedom is not a part of the equation. Burning Man supplies the playing field, some rules, with suggestions on how best to play the game. It,s up to the individual to determine how good of a player they wish to be. If the desire is to define freedom, with as much exposure to possibilities available, then Burning Man may well be the best game in town. meditate

I go because it opens me up to knowing more about me. I want to be a 'free me'. ubblol

How many times have you 'burned'?

I've been a burner for 6 years, and have burned 4 of the last six. 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005. I hope to go next year, too.

Burning Man is many things, although I try to not put too much stock into the event. Let's face it, it's a huge gathering, a huge party, and a meeting of like-minded souls. So to those of us who are Burners, it is truly an amazing experience. To those who don't think as we do, it ranges from "no big deal" to "abomination." We, of course, are more amused by the "abomination" crowd than we are by the "no big deal" crowd.

I think what makes Burning Man remarkable isn't the event, but is the culture of people who make the event. Here's how I see it:

1) To go to Burning Man, you have to have your act together. You need money, supplies, and planning.

2) People who go to Burning Man generally have interesting talents and hobbies and are a lot of fun.

Thus, Burners are a group of competent, fun people with really cool hobbies. This one spins fire, this one is the funniest storyteller you ever heard, and this one can build things you wouldn't believe, while this one can program a computer to make aforementioned construction work.

The event is a truly mind-blowing experience for the first-timer because it seems that so many rules of society have been turned upside-down. But, like in any other situation, the possibilities at Burning Man are different, but limited. It's just that they're so novel that they *seem* unlimited. Burning Man is a return to childhood in that it presents a novel setting to explore.

Firepoise, what a tease. Speak your mind giirrlll!! I am always up for a little introspection. Just feep in mind 'The Golden Rule', and we all grow better.

Hey Doc, (I can call you Doc?), have you ever been to a Decom.
I was going to try and make S.F.'s, but too little, too late. Maybe I'll organize a regional for next year.

Maus, you have a 'classic' beauty to your face. Ever model?

Fine_Rabid_Dog, You are all over the place at this web site! Do you ever sleep? Is there a challenge between you and bender as to who can 'post the most'? Ya know, none of the greamlins is working, so I can't post the laughing face. I wonder why? hmmm.

I think I spoke too soon. I bonked myself yesterday on the nose with my fire staff and cut it. I need lessons, the beer isn't working.
