Learn Processing, that's my advice. Does almost all the fun stuff Java does without being a pain in the arse to learn.

that's all rather tasty stuff... did anyone know that if you considered the earth to be the centre of the solar system mars appear to orbit us like a perfect 5 pointed flower because of it's retrograde motion? not particularily new in poi terms anymore, nor very realated to animated source codes but interesting to know all the same....
