I'm not quite up for a huge introduction here so i'll be lazy, copy and paste this from the suggestions page in my profile and fill it in. I apologise profusely, of course. wink

Name: Ilona
Country: England
Hometown: Burnley (oh dear)
DOB: 13/04/1989
Age: 17 (nearly)
Sex: Female
Occupation(s): Student
Favorite Drink(s): Jack Daniels and Coke
Favorite Color(s): black , purple , red , silver
Toys: what? fire and things that glow.
Hobbies other than the obvious: listening to music, watching dvds, lazing a day away with friends, going out and having fun
Education: unfortunately.
Favorite Book(s): Robin Hobb series.
Favorite Movie(s): Fight Club!
Favorite TV show(s): no time for tv
Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) writing? i just want to have a life rich in experiences.
Favorite Music Artists/Composers: too many to name. Scissor Sisters, Panic! At The Disco, Linkin Park, Rammstein, Dido, Jacques LuCont, Madonna, Soulwax, etc.
Favorite ice cream flavor(s): chocolate! or chocolate with fudge brownie. Ahh ben and jerrys.

Anyway sorry bout the lazy posting here. More about me... I just started spinning about 1-2 months ago with glowsticks on shoestrings. Glamorous, no? I was seriously impressed when i went into Afflecks Palace in Manchester with a couple of friends to look at some rave clothes.
There was a girl there dressed in really funky clothes, spinning with some poi that looked like rubber balls on strings but i'm not sure. (So if she's on this site, spin on!) So i picked up some glosticks and fashioned my own poi, and started trying to teach myself. After a few attempts at a couple of the tutorial vids on the net i found this site mentioned in loads of places and decided to look at it. I bought some proper poi (fluffy and pink) a few weeks ago and have had hours of fun. Still trying to teach myself off the lessons on here but getting a bit stuck trying to thread the needle.

Ah i ramble too much! But yes, hi. I find the people here do such amazing spinning, hope i can learn it and get that good! juggle

ahh you people are all so friendly!

well apart from the scary marmite fans but hey, it takes all sorts to make a world wink

I've tried threading the needle again and it's just not working. I came to the conclusion that i can't do giant butterfly inside the house because i smashed the light. redface My mother was not best pleased.

Instead i just managed to do the alternate butterfly but i can't get it swinging perpendicular to my back, it's kind of at an angle, so after trying for ages and smacking myself on the ass i grumbled a bit and had some rainbow sweet things. biggrin

If any of you guys are in the UK and are near Manchester at all over Easter then there is a fab event on that me and some friends are going to for our birthdays (3 of us have birthdays this week). It is the Secret Disco Connection thing; 2 secret Manchester locations on Sunday 16th April, 8pm to 6pm and the locations are connected by a Disco Bus, if anyone is interested.

You all seem to be party people and although i don't know if there will be room to poi there were lots of glowstickers at the last one (New Year) that we went to.

Either way, should be fun! bounce
