We are attempting to set a world record for the most people doing poi at once in Whakatane on Friday July 15, 2006.
All comers welcome - we aim to have at least 1,000 people take part and we will be performing to 'Poi E' by the Patea Maori Club.
Attempt will take place at approx 7.30pm, downtown Whakatane, New Zealand. We have registered with Guinness World Records and will know before the event whether it will be officially recognised...

pperhaps thsi should be in the events, performances and gatherings section and you should include more details about the location, like the address of where it is held.

yep - I'm a newby.
have posted it on da events calendar.
Whakatane is in New Zealand - small town on the East Coast 100 km from Rotorua, 300km from Auckland.
We only have one downtown, so if you turn up with your poi, just look for the other 3000 people with poi and you must be in the right place...
