Posted: Okay, first of all I got to say. Woa, what a group of creative, intellegent, thoughtful and artistic people here... I bow down in homage.
I can only hope that eventually I will learn some of the moves you guy's have been working on for year's. Not to mention the lost Jedi master's that had all of this down before we were a gleam in our mothers eye's.
I started teaching myself gymnastics as a lad of about 14 and was able to participate on a high school team. Wanting to continue in the creative art's I studied dance in college. Studying; Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Tia Chi and Yoga at Webster University in St. Louis, Mo. and transfered to Columbia College here in Chicago.
During that time is when I began studying eastern philosophies and meditation to balance out the physical demands of Dance. I had to learn specific way's to address the physical problems that I encountered. This led me to the interest and study of many different types, forms and philosophies of Massage Therapy.
Licensed and certified massage therapist since 1988. The knowledge that I have gained thru many years of study. At; The Institute for Advanced Perception, The Evanston Center for Shiatsu Studies and The Chicago School of Massage Therapy. Not to mention the numerus continuing education seminars I have taken. Give me a unique insight and ability to help other people. I currently work at two different health clubs as well as my private clientele at home.
I have used this knowledge as a volunteer at The AID's Alternative Health Project since 1989, The Core Center at Cook County Hospital and for thousands of friends here in Chicago since 1988. The mind body connection has been studied for extensively and I believe the correlation is undeniable.
I am looking forward to this new exploration of Poi, staff and juggling to boost my creative juices and only hope that I can attain some of the sacred knowlegde that has been passed down thru this web site.
