And Nutella is a bad thing, since it attracts squirrels. Squirrels are eeeevil.
Feel free to ask questions if you have any.

Posted: Thanks All. I've wanted to try Nutella and the others. They are big in vegetarian circles.
I did make my poi from a pair of orange and black striped socks and tennis balls. It is working pretty well. I'm finding that the left is harder to control than my right.

Posted: Your dominant hand will nearly always be easier than your other. So if you're right-handed, expect that left hand to fight against you quite a bit Just takes a bit of practice though and you'll get there!
I suggest you watch Nick's documentary on skill toys and your health. The stretches will definitely help you out, not to mention prevent serious injury (beyond the bruises you are almost sure to get).
Happy spinning!

Agree !!! Though, as Nick also says, don't just rely on the videos. The first thing you should do with your poi is play with them. No guidance, just you and your poi and the great outdoors (or a really big room with high ceilings, whichever). Teach yourself as often as others teach you, and most importantly -- have fun!
Oh, and don't be afraid to learn things in a different order than, say, Nick's video's show you. Everyone has different styles of learning, so really just do whatever you feel like doing and enjoy the flow

That's usually the way it goes buy if you try to learn new things with your left to start with before trying it with your right then you may be able to learn the right side quicker as some of the movement will carry on to your dominate hand.

Posted: Laasya yes I agree on finding a really big area. I go outside to learn new moves and I use a small area to get control over the moves.... lol that video is a great resource. I used to use glowsticks will I took one to the temple.... yeah that was bad.
Dont feel bad about your left not going as well. It took me a week to get split time down
