i'm a canadian from toronto ontario but i'm in berkeley california right now (accross the bay from san fran) and i really want to head down to mexico from here for the winter.

i was wondering if there are any adventurous travellers around cali that are for hitchiking around.
i don't want to do it on my own and i'm running outta time (my bus ticket home expires soon unless i renew it)

so yah, who's up for it??

well, you'd haev to ask dom about this, but- if you are willing to wait a touch, dom, a friend, and myself are driving from SF to SD and that won't leave you with too much more hitchhiking. plus you could stop at some fire parties on the way leave a note here or email me. we're leaving around the 6th/7th of Dec.

Gaja! ya gotta contact in Santa Barbara/ Ventura County, Maximus , Phil Heiple of HoP! he's a swordsman with his fire troupe Prometheus Fire Circus, and they're the kinda peeps may know some game hitch-hikers for ya. for example, he may drive down, at least end of Dec with MikeGinny from San Francisco to San Diego county here, and he often goes all around the coast with other crews.

we'll post your request in the ususal SoCal thread for ya, and keep updatin SoCal peeps about what kinda companions/ trips/; rides ya lookin for, iluminaryfaerie. check our thread for an article on Maximus in the Ventura County Reporter.

we love ya, Gaja! how's your wrist healing?

we would love it if it you could come down with the San Francisco December 8 group and join us while we're having some really cool, maybe even major fire parties, and in this area, pozee & his roommate wink have emphasized how their pad in Oceanside, right between Orange County and San Diego, is always open to pyro friends.

when you said you could use ICQ from anywhere, did you mean that you can do it from a url, without installing software locally? you must know AIM seems the most popular now, then MSNM & YIM, then a few NIM, tho the comp you borrow has to have them installed. wanna get an AIM id, we can chat about parties & more down here easier. & tell ya what, if you manage to join the ride for here December 7th/8th, i'll go register in ICQ to discuss details on stuff here with you. tell me which way it works. not so many Yanks use it anymore, even for international.

Hiya! Unfortunatly I can't offer you a traveling partner, but I can say that I travelled around Mexico by myself two years ago and didn't enfront any problems. In fact, I met many amazing people who I mightn't have met if I'd travelled in a pair. Do you speak spanish? I guess that makes quite a difference too... At the same time, once you start your journey, you're bound to meet many people who have their traveling shoes on and are ready to go. Maybe just take a bus to your first destination to get a feel for things? Good luck, and I'm here if you've got any questions. I'm way south in Mexico right now, but it's just a two week trip. Are you wanting to travel all over or kind of settle down in one spot? You'll definately have a blast if you're able to put it together! Good luck!

yo Gaja, thought you were already in contact with Kyri?

and since Dom's drive to pick up Kyri & Vern starts at SFO (San Francisco airport) far as i know, maybe you COULD join the ride around the 7th/ 8th right in San Francisco? Kyri is on top of Dom's sched, if you phone or mail her, ya can get fully connected, if they're any contact info you're missin, EMAIL me, i'm gonna be irregular here at HoP a while, or phone me.

my sytem bug prevents me from using icq on-screen in a chat, but i now have regular icq so if you EMAIL me or phone me we could book an icq chat. i'm adding my icq into my sig now. it's 176229491.

Hello!
Kyri's a really great social secretary! Better than my last one.

iluminaryfaerie, it'd be great to meet you so if you want a lift in the car then there's a seat for you. However, whomever sits behind me better be short! Anyway, PM me or Kyri, I should have good internet access for the next few days now.

Bring some CDs in case the car has a player, otherwise you're restricted to Pink, Avril Lavine (sp? who knows!) and the Beatles. No, I'm not kidding! My music taste is wide, and my good stuff in in MP3 format.

See you all soon!

yo Kyri's got it right, that i'm here for sure as your backup, always.

for y'all, my home landline is 949.643.1625 & i'll be here most of the time til ya get to SoCal. call before 10 pm if ya can, tho i'm up much of the night; call afta if ya need to.

Gaja, tell us, do you have your Ontario cellphone witcha?

& howz ya wrist?

Dom, are you going to fly out of SoCal? not drivin towards Arizona, likely?

Gaja, there's a pyro here who is likely to go near Tucson, Arizona a few days after the parties down here. i'll PM you here about that, dunno yet which travel method, can inquire for you if you want, but read you PM.

the rare raver drives between SoCal and AZ, we'd have to work the rave community sites & stuff, could def look for a ride for you that ways, or if you're serious about totally wildcat hitching, trucks & everything go that freeway all the time.

Gaja, jus tried you back on ICQ, we missed; Kyri, ya got a few PMs for me by now, do you get them forwarded to email now? 2 were before your last HoP posts, list as unread in my PMbox.

Dom, saw your site, if ya haven't grown too much since then, bet i could recognize ya now (*grin*)

Dom & Kyri, see that other thread Kyri posted up for y'all (& me)? she wants you to PM here your last names, if they're not too secret to give her. course any of us will keep whateva you like confidential, no question, if we know you want it that way.

much thrillin to hug y'all, here's 1 for each includin Vern

GAJA!

we gotcha a confirmed ride to Tucson, Arizona direct from Oceanside on Dec 10-11 day or two right after our main pyro party! so come on down with Dom & Kyri & Vern now.

get this: the illustrious sexynipfiregod pozee will drive you personally! you're all set with him, don't need to mail or phone anymore.

just join Dom's caravan, are you all set with him, did you two decide where & when to meet up in San Francisco?

come to San Diego, stay in Oceanside at pozee & wink & jason's pad, then drive with pozee to Tucson, Arizona, all 440 miles of that. i just hitched a ride myself (*heh heh*) on a faster comp, found that from Tucson, in Arizona's South, to Bisbee, down on Arizona's Southern border with Mexico, is just 90 miles, 40 east on US Interstate 10, then 50 southeast on Arizona highway 80.

howzat sound, all of us workin together for the joy of welcomin ya properly to SoCal?

dulce is a gurl wit a caring heart, a good international head, & she's sprightly spinner.

Kyri, hey, rip that final exam good, babe.

Hello all,
I just got back from Mexico and am now waiting for Montezuma's revenge to kick in. So far so good...
I have pirate business in Los angeles on dec. 8 and would like to drive down to either Laguna Beach or Oceanside from there on Sunday evening. Whose got the cleanest carpet? Where's the fire fest gonna be?
I may have the lovely Moongirl in tow, if she promises not to vomit on the floor like she did in the hotel room in Rosarito. Advice to all: don't abuse your host's free food and drink policy.
And don't drop your fire stick off the balcony like I did: there may be a fireworks stand below.
Other than that, performing in Mexico is highly recommended. Permits? Insurance? Liability? Bah!
"We don' need no stinking permits..."

Maximus, YES YES YES watch your email for details late tonight or by midday tomorrow at the latest, the SoCalFire411@yahoo.com addy will be sending you all the details including the SECRET ones. i'll include phone numbers for you.

in short, if you're at about the right time on the 8th, come by and i'll invent some kind of amusing dindin in the evening waiting for Dom's carload, and maybe yours, before a lil burn on a beach in Dana Point, you may know Pirate's Cove? then you will stay, as all HoP visitors are welcomed to do, at pozee's pad in Oceanside. major party there starting in the middle of the next afternoon, celebrating all pyro visitors to SoCal, including those from geographic SoCal/cultural Central Cali like yous all, & you'll already be there. bring ya whole family, crew, & all their 2nd aunts, & everyone's toyz including hand drums & stuff for late moonlight after dj decks stop spinnin. clean carpets? nah, we don't make any management promises like that, bro

KYRI, YOUR HOP PM BOX IS FULL. it won't accept any messages until you delete some. max is 60 at one time. yes, i got your PM on the what-shall-i-bring question. i'll work that for you, but you can't get any private answers til you clear your box. when you do, you GOTTA send me pretty right away a really good description of what YOU eat.

with all my love,

~ Mikie

right. so taht's fixed. Maximus, we owuld love to have you. as far as what i eat, i'm a vegetarian, not vegan, and i tend to shy away from spicey food (i.e. most mexican). dom doesn't seem to like vegetables. but he also doesn't want us to worry about him, tho of course i will anyhow. vern doesn't care and you know gaja better than i. hrmm... also tend not to have too much of a sweetooth very often.... uhh... i like staple type foods but i can be open to some new things.

Whoa.. Back from Mexico now... It always happens so quick! Keep me in tune about the fire fest.. I'll do my research here.

iluminaryfaerie - as Mike said, I'm a girl. If you really want to get to Mexico, let me know... In certain places, you don't need to speak spanish.. It helps, but you can get by without it. Like I said, if you're willing to venture by yourself for a bit, there are many people to be met (including fire spinners) who are roaming around in warmer waters.

Good luck un your healing time... Sometimes injuries just have to become part of our traveling experiences. How long are you out for? I hope it's just a short crutches sentence... If that's the case, you'll be back to yourself in no time... Don't let it get you down if you can still work with it! Best Wishes...
