Thanks Bird. Apparently it's not cold yet, but this concept of wearing a jacket all day... while the sun is out... in autumn... is somewhat unusual!

Pat: pretty much, yeah. There's a regular meetup on Mondays, which I'll wander down to next week, and meet some of the locals. Judging from on here, there's a reasonable size group, so it should be good. And yeah, I'm missing WEFF after 2 weeks...

Hi Anthony, welcome to HoP and Edinburgh! hug

Hope you'll have a good time here smile

I won't meet you for a while yet cause I'm busy this Monday night and then away for 4 weeks and then away somewhere else for Xmas and away somewhere else again for New Year's... so I'll hopefully meet you next year wink

There's also uni juggling club on Wednesday nights (7-9), and it's indoors! Maybe see you there? Let me know if you wanna go and I'll supply the details!

Bird, not really a jacket, but... anything more than t-shirt and shorts means I'm making concessions for the weather, and a jumper is definitely cold for me!

Birgit, I'm sure I'll see you there eventually, I plan on being around for a while. Not sure about juggling, I can keep 3 balls going but that's about it!

Thanks for the welcom Adya!

oh, it's spinning and all that, too, it's just CALLED juggling society. "Object manipulation and some circus skills" society might be a better-fitting name, but then uni admin would probably get a bit suspicious as to which objects are being manipulated (and rightly so of course!)

But seeing that I've got either Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday to agree to going on a date with a very cute trainee massage therapist (bounce) and Saturday already semi-planned for a pre-Christmas party I may have to pass on juggling on Wednesday, too. Righto Birgit. Don't think I have time at the moment for more than one fire night a week, so I might leave it as Mondays for now. As for the date: if it's Wednesday, you can fit another one in Friday if it goes particularly well! wink

Tony, that's what happens when you stop paying attention :P I'll let you know what's been going on when I get a chance, I still haven't got photos.

And I've already attracted my first streaker, apparently! Hey poiq!

Won't see ya this year then, Mr. Anthony... boo!

Date's on Saturday. But it means we can start early, I'm planning to coerce him in going to try if the kite I bought ages ago can actually fly if the weather's nice biggrin And he said if he was boring I could kill him and throw him in the Water of Leith, so I'll better take a knife, too ubblol

poiq, there's something about the concept of racing streakers that leads to weird mental images! Almost as much as faithinfire implying that wearing pants was an unusual state of being around here! biggrin

Birgit, if you're dumping bodies in the Water, can you make it downstream of, say, Stockbridge? That way I don't have to worry about possibly finding it? I'll probably see you early next year, there's not that much left of this one anyway!

the dress code varies from room to room, anthony... but poig's made himself at home in a room that pretty much requires you drop your dacks at the door... so don't be taken aback by his apparent forthrightness...

and bugga that you won't meet birgit... well, not till next year anyway... I was going to demand that you give her a massive flying mega tackle-glomp of a hug from me... but it'll have to wait till next year now

Anthony, it'll definitely be downstream of Stockbridge, there's the pretty Pizza Express with view on the water of Leith, and I don't want to spoil people's appetites!

Pogo, here's one for you anyway! hug

Pat, I have no problem with pantlessness, I'm just used to people getting to know me before taking their pants off in front of me wink

Birgit, I've been told that the Pizza Express you speak of is quite good. It would indeed be unfortunate to ruin it with corpses!

Apparently when I was 4 or so I discovered a body swimming in a river! I can't remember it, though I vaguely remember being on the boat. According to my dad I was quite fascinated and they had to pull me away from the railing. Goes to show that you can sometimes tell which kid is going to be a scientist later biggrin

"Mummy, why's that man lying face down in the water?"

It's probably a good thing you weren't a bit older, may have freaked you out. And less than 20 posts to discussion of corpses in my intro thread? I'm not going to take that as a sign!

Actually I was with my dad I think, cause my mum was on a weekend away. He must've been torn between being excited and watching and taking me away from the sight smile

Hehehe, you make it sound as though it runs in the family, this obsession with corpses?

Last Monday was almost a write-off down at the Meadows, was quite damp. But I did get to meet a couple of guys, I think their names were Andy and Ron, but I'm not sure.

How'd the date go, anyway?

We didn't go to the water of Leith but to the beach biggrin It was great, but that's about it... don't think I really fancy him, so no intimate details to tell, sorry. I think I may have a new good friend though, which is just as good smile

In other words, no new bodies in the North Sea (at least not because of anything I did).

Met up with the Cambridge lot last night who were absolutely fantastic, especially when putting down the car window and shouting "ABUSE!" at other jugglers. So yay!

Ron and Andy sounds about right, I haven't seen them in a while, so say hi next time smile
