Calling all firetwirlers drummers and dancers, or anyone wanting to learn the above.We are starting up a weekly gathering in Fitzroy area to share above skills with thoughts to starting up a troup to perform in Melbourne area in 2002. **edit August 2004** Hello and welcome to any new fire friends visiting this thread! To save you reading through 30 pages of sturf, our weekly gathering is;
Wednesday; Gathering at Edinborough Gardens, St Georges Rd, Nth Fitzroy, about 8pm onwards.There is also a Sunday gathering at St Kilda. Check :St Kilda, Melbourne, Australia, posted by Footbag, for details.

Hey. Don't know if you guys remember me but i posted about a year back, disappeared off the face of the Earth, found the Ark of the Covenant and now i'm back!
For those who are wondering exactly WHY i've returned to HoP, I have this inkling that I'm getting a pair of dual short staves to get my funk on for a belated birthday present and looking for a twirl monkey to teach me stuff

Re the Sunday twirling at the gardens, do people still get together early to practice/pat new people on the head from 5? I went down the other day and found the three palm trees, and the guy with the hammer, but no twirly people

The weather is soooo damn hot in melb, a taste of summer for all.
Definitely with sleepless people around the park at all hours, there was a need for people to twirl, people to watch! though it started much later than usual (10PM) it finished at about 1:30AM!
last night was freakin grande, the site has moved back closer to Brunswick st, and be warned barefoot twirlers, there's sharp prickle patches here and there!
