It's very likely to be called Paraffin/lamp oil/kerosene but if not it'll be best to ask a local. If buying something you don't recognise be sure it isn't something explosive like petrol!!

Fire regulations....who knows....I'm sure you'll soon find out but I've seen fire spinning in ibiza loads on TV so you might be able to find some English there who can point you towards fuel sellers and good places to spin

Let's relight this forum ubblove

apparently the phrasebook spanish for paraffin is paraffin, except i tried this once in barcelona and got blank looks...

I get the impression you'll probably find a whole bunch of other people spinning there anyway, it's seems to be very popular in mainland spain at least.

if it makes no sense that's because it's NOn-sense.

I think the castillion word is different to the catalan one. (possibly only in pronunciation but enough to make it confusing)

You should be fine spinning on the beach. If the police do question you at all just pack everything up and leave asap. They are not very friendly towards foreigners during the summer season (can you blame them really though!).

I dont think you'll be breaking any laws but then I think that the island police tend to make most of it up on the spot, shout it at you in castillion and wave their 4 foot nightsticks at you rather than follow the rules and laws of the mainland.

Enjoy the island. Dont forget to go to the amazingly beautiful bits on the mountain (well technically volcano) and the stunning beaches away from all the tourists (if you know where you are headed hire a car for a day - its well worth it).
biggrin

envy  Ibiza's nice... You get lampoil in the hardware stores... they have 1-litre canisters and it's cheaper when you buy 4 at a time smile There is one home depot just outside Eivissa, opposite the big shopping centre... Port Antony is packed, but there is a Hippie Market in the centre of the island with heeps of beautiful people...

Send pictures, pleeeeeeeease smile
