Im looking into the possibility of getting some fire twirling clothing
done up. I want to assess the feasibility of the idea and what sort of
things people would be interested in. Ive done up a list of questions

1. Is it something you would buy? If so which items would you be
interested in buying and what sort of price range would you imagine
paying for them (please include currency)
a. tshirt
b. single
c. long sleeved shirt
d. hoodie
e. beanie
f. fisherman style pants
g. normal pants

2. For tops which of the following layouts do you like
a. large logo on the front
b. small logo on the front
c. large logo on the back
d. small logo on the front and large logo on the back
e. large logo on the front and large logo on the back

3. Which colours of clothing would you prefer

4. Which colour combinations do you like in an item of clothing

5. Is there anything in particular that you would like to see in the
art on clothing

I would be very pleased to recieved emails/PMs with your answers.
Currently the intention is to have a first batch ready for Common
Ground 07, with a CG hoodie. All thoughts and inputs are greatly
appricated.

Nooo... Please, there are enough "lifestyle sports" out there.

Prices? Surely you should be paying me for wearing your logos?

Vests and baggy / loose pants are always good...

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

Foxy via MiG's computer cuz mine no workies:

honestly, i don't see how ben-brand clothes are gonna be any more spinnerish than any old cotton clothes already avaliable... jeans and cotton shirts works fine for me in both everyday wear and while i'm spinning...

he could make the pants more like Gi trousers with the crotch panel for better movement... with a sneaky special pocket just for your lighter wink

There are some designers out there doing this already (names are not coming to top of mind right now..but I see them on ebay and have been to their stores).

So, why not see what they are doing and then think of a completely different way to go with it?

Surely that sounds like a good place to start.

As for things like hoodies, t-s, etc. they'd have to be really something to get me to buy them because the market is saturated with them already, and with computer designs and printers, I can make my own with the designs I love *really* inexpensively and not have to worry about another spinner duplicating (which I don't anyway).

That being said, I love cool color combinations because it stands out in stark contrast to fire colors and the typical colors used on non-fire toys (the yellows and reds). I enjoy these being highlighted with accents of metallics.

I hate black. It doesn't show off the body at all, and in any movement art, it should.

Designs I think should accent a body. Harsh lines like stripes and such (aside from maybe down the leg) tend to make the wearer look..eh. Love strong tribals and things with "personality". I can not stand flame patterns, with a heated passion actually. It's cliche, overused, not amusing and can be purchased at the nearest goth shop.

As for designs, the ideas you put forth seem very logo-ish to me. If you put out a "Common Ground" hoodie, then I would assume that proceeds will go to the event and would wear it proudly as a logo. (small on front, larger on back)

However for basic designs, I don't want it to look like a logo for several reasons. People won't pay attention to my spinning while they are trying to make out who I am representing on my clothes. And since I represent me, that is not something I wish to convey (and I know it happens as I will often be destracted by an overdone costume or a tattoo or writing rather than watching the performance, as do many people I know.)

So, there is my .02

Keep us informed as to how it is going! smile
