Poi... it's a-nice!

Hi, just thought I would introduce myself to these forums. My name is Dustin, although I'm referred to as Dusty and, in some circles, "Hollywood". I live in a tiny town in southern Illinois, USA called Hoffman. In this place devoid of all majesty and beauty, I am the only person who lives life in color. The residents here fear change, and all stare at me as I practice poi in my yard. As long as that never changes, I'll never move away. biggrin

I was born on April 11, 1986, making me 140 years old in dog math. I am most definitely a male, or at least that is the impression I get every time I stand to pee. I work in a terrible factory that makes car bumpers, and I am also a certified trained bartender, in case any party emergencies should arise. My favorite foods are pasta and liquor. My favorite colors are red and black, although I'm also partial to white, and all other memebers of ROYGBIV. I own some fuzzy poi from this site, as I have just recently begun spinning, and I also have made several pair of sock poi. My other hobbies consist of writing music and poetry and performing it. I play guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, the recorder, the pennywhistle, and the french horn. My education consists of a high school diploma and 3 failed (but amazing) semesters of community college. I plan to attend a technical school for audio engineering in the next year. My favorite books... well, that's really difficult to list. I read a lot, everything from poetry books to mystery novels to terribly boring technical manuals on acoustics. I also watch far too many movies, and my favorites are the good ones, regardless of genre... although I'll admit that I'm a sucker for indie films, even if they're sappy chick flicks. My list of favorite television shows is quite short, as I don't watch much TV and when I do, I rarely follow more than one show... but I like watching cartoons such as the Adult Swim block on Cartoon Network, and I recently started following The Office and Heroes religiously. When I grow up, I aspire to be a superhero, but I'll settle for Audio Engineer or rockstar. The music list is going to be waaaaaay too long to put up here... I like music. Probably too much music, really. I listen to everything from Classical to Grindcore, and everything in between and outside. Seriously. Favorite ice cream flavor: Ben and Jerry's Phish Food. Oh, and between Vegemite, Marmite, and Nutella... the only one I've ever had is Nutella, so I guess that's settled.

I just started doing poi a few weeks ago, and I really enjoy it because it's exciting and relaxing at the same time. That's pretty much my style... oh, I also like spinning poi because it's awesome, and that's my business: being awesome.
