I don't drink coffee very often. If I do, it's mostly in the mornings. But I have to cram tonight, and I had coffee at about 5pm this evening... it's midnight now, and I am SOOO HYPER! Spinning in my chair, shaking my food, tapping my hands and pens on the table, and freaking my mum out. It's great. But I won't get to bed until... 2 to 3 am... Ooooh boy....

Sometimes it makes me heart race too Skully.... I *never* drink coffee before doing any kind of intensive sports or something... for fear that my heart will give out, although I'm fairly certain that's me being paranoid tongue

My biggest problem, is that I'm starting to like the taste! Eep!

And for the record, I passed out around 2-ish. Didn't get much studying done either ^_^'

Coffee contains whats the word...well cancer causing chemicals, a few cups a day wont so anything bad but drinking lots will certainly increase your chances of getting it.

umm

1. coffee is addictive
2. insomniacs? you are using the drug that is helping cause your problems to try to solve them..........cause thats logical...........
3. coffee is also the only habit forming drug we regularly supply to our children(as a society, i dont have children you see)
4. studies suggest that extroverts are less effected by caffine than introverts, that you mint ubbloco
5. military studies have found that when soldiers who've been awake for over 48 hours take 600mg of caffine it has the same effect as 20mg of amphetamine
6. going without caffeine for 36 hours inceases blood flow in the brain
7. caffeine is being considered as a potential pesticide for slugs and snails
8. there are documented cases of death from ODing on caffeine pills
9, some studies have showns that caffeine, as a psychoactive drug, increases blood pressure and could contribute to heart disease (SKUL, BOBO and TINKLE!!!)(luckily the increase is short lived)
10. the caffeine that is removed to make decaf is sold to drug and soft drink manafactures

and so concludes my top ten list of why coffee is THE DEVIL!!!! ubbloco

coffee, bah humbug!

actually the caffeine in coffee doesnt take effect until an hour after you consume it (like you feel fine when you drink shots, then they hit you 10 min later). so with that in mind its possible that if you drink coffee and then go to bed within, say, 45 minutes you wont have any problems going to sleep

also smoking increases the rate at which you metabolise caffeine, so if you smoke and drink coffee it will probably have less of an effect

it also depends if you've had anything to eat. I know I can feel the caffeine working it's magic within 30mins if i take 3shots on an empty stomach (though i'd feel horribly hungry right after that though).

Or even faster if I crush caffeine tabs and leave them under my tounge (yuck)... *sigh* things i did when I was young and dumb...
